I wanted to let you know how much we thoroughly enjoyed the experience we had onboard Prestige, the crew could not have been more helpful and friendly, the food and accommodation exceeded our expectations, the itinerary was amazing and we have never felt so relaxed at the end of a holiday, being onboard allowed us time to relax whilst viewing some of the most beautiful scenery ever. Thanks again for all your help throughout the booking stages, if anyone requires assurance of what a great holiday they are booking give them my email as I will have no trouble recommending this wonderful experience.
With very best wishes
I Have recently returned from a fantastic Cruise in the Maldives with Seafarer. We were on a 7 night trip on the Dream 60. Our trip really was fantastic right from the start. We were met at the airport after our wait for a transfer to arrive and transferred to the Hulhule Hotel where we we were given a 10 minute massage,2 hours of WiFi access, a drink and also able to use the Hotels private beach and Pool for the morning. From the Hotel around 2 o clock we were then picked up and taken to the Catamaran where on arrival we met our Crew of 3 , Hafiz, Anwa and Aarif who were truly wonderful and really made the trip for us along with the other persons on board through out the week.
After arrival we settled into our cabins and set sail for the week. Over the week we were provided a fanatic variety of food of fruit, pancakes, toast, jams, eggs etc for breakfast and fish and meat dishes from the Chef for lunch and dinner.
Personally we are both not really a big snorkellers, however i can certainly say the Maldives has adjusted my view. The sea life was truly amazing. On some spots you really felt like you were swimming in an aquarium with Shawls of fish around you. We were lucky enough to swim with the turtles, experience dolphins on many occasions swimming along with the Catamaran and doing tricks for us on the water and also see a pod of Whales. These are real highlights of my trip.
Half way through the week the crew also arranged a barbecue on the beach. This was a really nice change for everyone to eat on the sand beneath the stars with the smell of the barbecue cooking by us.
This was myself and my husbands first trip on a catamaran and it really will remains a truly memorable one for us.
Thanks again to everyone involved.
Sailing Cruiser Panorama - Cuba cruise from Cienfuegos to Havana.
We joined the cruise on 24 Jan, fairly early that day, and so had some time in Cienfuegos before booking in. On joining Panorama were delighted to find an old friend on board; Stephanos was the hotel manager on our first cruise. We were also happy to meet the Tour Director, Vilim, who was a great mine of information on Cuba and looked after the guests very well, and Captain Costas, of whom more later. With Vilim's help we were able to organise a taxi next day to see Santa Clara, the place where the revolution succeeded in Dec 1958.
On the third day we visited Trinidad.Panorama got under way at 0300, though we didn't wake until well at sea. We just got up on deck in time to watch the approach to Casilda.
around-0900. Then we all went to Trinidad, by bus. We saw the main architectural treasures, in and around Plaza Major, and enjoyed an excellent lunch in Don Antonio's.
The next day we moored 3 miles off Cato Largo, after rather choppy passage from Casilda.
Disembarked by local tender around 1000. A Group of 5 did the excursion: turtle breeding ground, coral reef snorkelling, and Playa Sirena. The dolphins at The latter provided a delightful unscheduled entertainment. The next day (28 Jan) we moored off Maria la Gorda, famous for its diving centre. A very good barbecue lunch was served, on the beach. The sea became very rough during day. Embarkation proved hazardous. The dive school Tender used in disembarkation in the morning was very lively, had a rather high gunwhale, and in the sea conditions at the pier, which was no protection against incoming surf, hard to get on. Two very experienced yacht sailors among the passengers managed to get on. The rest of us (6) had to be evacuated via the ship's Zephyr (zodiac),commanded by the No 1. Captain Evagelos. We were impressed by the way the whole management reacted to the emergency. Vilim showed enormous energy and determination; first in getting a grip on the (not great) boat handlers of the dive boat; second in requesting the Zephyr, and third, in his contingency plan. He was prepared to get our clothes from ship and drive us to Havana. That showed to us how dedicated he was, but fortunately we made it back in the Zephyr; thanks to the impressive seamanship of Captain Evagelos we were not even wet.
Panorama left Maria la Gorda at 1630 and we were at sea all night and still going, in increasingly high seas and with the wind always on the nose, until 1600 next day. Captain Costas gave 4 of us a very informative bridge tour during this, and said he had sailed through much worse. Once past the fortresses guarding entrance to Havana harbour, the sea calmed, though wind still very strong. We docked at Sierra Maestre cruise terminal, opposite Plaza de San Francisco at 1600, on 29 Jan. We had the Captain's dinner that evening, which was a very pleasant occasion. The following day we explored the Old City, made easier by the fact that the terminal is next to the heart of it, and in the evening were entertained to a barbecue on board, made memorable by the Greek dance performed by Stefanos and the chef. We disembarked to go to our hotel the next morning.
We want to say how well all the crew looked after us. We thoroughly enjoyed Cuba; we think it was the best tour/cruise we have
done with Variety.
Myself and my husband had a fantastic time on the Classical Greece Cruise. The crew on board were so friendly and attentive and the food was superb every single day.
My favorite part of the cruise though was the itinerary. Each day we were able to stop nearby or right inside the island we were visiting due to the size of the ship. I also loved the fact that we were able to stay on the islands into the evening in most ports of call to enable us to really experience the Greek islands better.
It was really a truly memorable experience and we are already looking at the other itineraries you offer to book our next trip.
Thank you to all of your Team.
Gulet cruise out of Goceck early October was excellent. Lovely weather, good food, excellent boat which was clean and well maintained by very obliging crew. Diet is definitely 'Mediterranean' which might not suit everyone. Sterling can be used for bar bill and excursions.
