The cruise along the Nile between Luxor and Aswan offers the best and most convenient way to explore this truly unique collection of tombs temples, and timeless treasures, whilst the rhythm of life on the Nile will fascinate and captivate you.

Our cruise begins in Luxor with it’s famous Luxor temple, atmospheric Belle Epoque corniche, and its exotic resort atmosphere. We cruise the wonderful stretch of Nile between Luxor and Aswan after passing through the lock at Esna. Sites to visit include the Valley of the Kings and Queens, and the fabulous temple complex at Karnak The temple of Knum at Esna and Horus at Kom Ombo, as well as those of Philae & isis, together with the unfinished Obelisk and the Aswan Dam, which resulted in the creation of lake Nasser.
With so many unrivalled and world famous sights, we have included the cruise shore excursions within our package. The longer tour to the spectacular temple of Abu Simbel is an optional one.
The holiday ends with a 2 night stay in Cairo.

We offer the cruise part of the holiday on a full board basis, with an exotic mix of local and international dishes on offer during your cruise. We complement the programme with a deck barbecue and also special themed nights ensuring a memorable trip in this beautiful country. The stay in cosmopolitan Cairo is on a bed and breakfast basis giving you the opportunity to explore this great city at your own pace.

The Weather

Reliable sunshine is virtually guaranteed throughout the year, with temperatures ranging from the low 70’s in winter and up to the high 80’s or even 90’s in the height of Summer. The climate is typically desertic, giving warm or hot days with cooler nights and virtually no humidity.

Day-by-Day Itinerary



Transfer on arrival (approx. 20 minutes) to your cruise ship, with evening meal.

Edfu & Esna

Luxor to Edfu & Esna

An early morning start to the West Bank of the Nile to visit The Valley of the Kings and Queens and the temple of Hatchepsut. In the evening we set sail to Edfu via Esna lock.


Edfu/Kom Ombo/Aswan

Start the morning with a visit to the temple of Knum and Edfu, after which we sail to Kom Ombo to visit this famed temple dedicated to the God Horus. In the evening we set off to Aswan where we spend the night.

Nile Cruise


In the morning we visit the famous landmarks of Aswan, the high dam, Philae Temple and the unfinished obelisk still in the ground at its ancient quarry


Today take the optional Abu Simbel excursion or spend the day at leisure with an afternoon felucca ride around the spectacular Elephantine island  also known as Kitchener’s Island and its noted Botanical Gardens(entrance to which is optional).

Aswan to Luxor


The day is spent at leisure as the boat heads to Luxor via Edfu and Esna. We arrive later that evening. After dinner, enjoy the delights of a traditional on board party with a Belly Dance show.


A morning visit to the Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple with an optional visit to the Sound and Light show at Karnak Temple after dusk,.

Luxor to Cairo

We disembark after breakfast and transfer to Luxor airport for your flight to Cairo. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for two nights.


Day at leisure, with the opportunity to take part in an optional excursion to Giza for the Pyramids and Spynx as well as the amazing Egyptian Museum.

Cairo to UK

Transfer to Cairo Airport for your return flight to the UK.

Royal Viking

Our chosen vessel, the recently fully refurbished Royal Viking was specifically designed for cruising along the Nile.

It offers  a full range of facilities including swimming pool and large sundecks from where you can relax and watch the breath-taking scenery as it glidesw gently by. All the spacious cabins have en-suite facilities and climate control, as well as entertainment systems and large windows  opening to  French  balconies.

There is a single sitting restaurant as well as a comfortable lounge and bar ,  a deck café plus a small gym, a gift shop and a boutique on board.
