Don’t miss…

  • The mystical island of Delos
  • Mykonos and its hedonistic delights
  • Volcanic Santorini and Akrotiri
  • The Minoan  Palace of Knossos on Crete
  • Kythira – old school Greece
  • Medieval Napflion
  • The artists paradise of Hydra

A classic in two senses, this itinerary combines some classic historic sites with some classic island hopping – the only way to see the Aegean. It’s the perfect combination of awesome antiquity and natural beauty. So, essentially, you can look at this as a holiday cruise with some super culture attached, or some terrific culture visited courtesy of 7 days on board a luxurious cruise ship. Welcome to small group cruising at its most easy-going with something for everyone!

You’ll see icons both ancient and modern. At one extreme you get to see the mythological birthplace of Apollo at Delos (remarkable ruins) and tune-in to the legendary Greek muses. At the other you can sit in a café on the harbour in Hydra, drink and ouzo and think about Leonard Cohen who composed ‘So Long Marianne’ tuning-up in a café on the self-same waterfront. If you’ve yet to cruise Greek waters it’s the perfect introduction.

Optional: Cruise & Stay

Athens is a glorious place to spend a couple of night and days exploring. Herodion hotel is ideally placed for exploring this vibrant city. The beaches here are often overlooked but very nice indeed – a few nights or even a week at the Aegeon Beach Resort with its imposing views of Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon makes for a real pre- or post-cruise treat. We can easily add either.
