Seychelles Explorer Cruise – Introduction

Seychelles Explorer

The ultimate way of discovering the Seychelles is aboard a sailing yacht. This allows you to see a lot more of the Seychelles compared to travelling around them by land only and of course in a much more comfortable way. So board one of our 18 passenger capacity sailing yachts and sail through the area of the Indian Ocean in which the Seychelles lay.

With the selection of cruises that we offer for the Seychelles travelers will have the opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle whilst island hopping and experiencing the true diversity and beauty of this archipelago. Whilst sailing through the Indian Ocean’s shimmering waters, passengers will be able to discover the islands and islets that are harder to reach, as well as sheltered cover and wonderful moorings. The islands within this archipelago are within close proximity of each other which allows our passengers to view the islands and islet but maximize their time participating in activities like: diving and snorkeling in pristine turquoise waters or exploring the exotic culture and flavour, as well as flora and fauna, of the various isles.

Our selection of small ships that partake in the cruises around the Seychelles blend the romance of sailing with comfortable accommodation and modern amenities, making them much more than your ordinary sailing vessels. They act as our passengers’ platform for adventure, discovery and relaxation whilst cruising around the Seychelles on one of our various cruise programs.

Above all we strive to differ and stand out by providing our passengers with personal and friendly service which creates a truly unique atmosphere on board. We have sizable but un-intrusive crew, which includes the captain, engineer, 2 deckhands, 2 stewardesses, a dive instructor and a dedicated chef, who all strive to assure that our guests have an extraordinary sailing holiday in comfort and with high class standard of amenities. We aim and work to provide the best Seychelles Holiday, by sailing you around areas you would not have seen otherwise, providing you with diversity and adventure all accompanied by the relaxation and high standard service of our crew.

An array of exciting activities await holiday makers onboard all of our Seychelles cruises.  The advantage of being at sea means that many of the activites that we provide such as swimming, diving and snorkeling, as well as waterskiing and kayaking, are virtually always possible throughout the entire duration of our cruises. This allows for passengers to partake nearly anytime they so wish.

Diving and snorkeling in Seychelles is an incredibly rewarding experience. These idyllic tropical islands are located in the Indian Ocean’s crystal clear waters, allowing divers as well as snorkelers to immerse themselves in Seychelles’ unique underwater world. Snorkeling is an easy way to get up close to the tropical reef fish, corals, sea turtles and other colourful creatures of the Indian Ocean. Meanwhile, diving affords underwater enthusiasts the chance to dive amongst the various underwater communities which include massive granite pillars and boulders, which are unique to Seychelles. Each of our vessels act as PADI diving centres; an experienced PADI instructor will eb onboard who is available for lessons and will accompany you along all dives, we have 18 diving tanks and full equipment which are available for rent onboard.

Our cruises in the Seychelles also give our guests the opportunity to try their hand at sailing if they would like to, with the modern furling systems of our sailing yachts Sea Star and Sea Bird.

Trade Winds Cruise Club Weather

The Weather

The weather in the Seychelles is generally around 29°C being warm and humid during the whole year round!
Since the Seychelles are so close to the equator they have rain during the whole year but they are usually just quick showers which are then followed by a strong tropical sun. We would recommend you do take a hat, sunglasses and high factor sun tan protection.
From May to September the South Eastern is the prevailing wind and it is the cooler part of the year and supposedly less rain. During this period you might also have some sea grass onto some beaches.
From October to April the North Western wind prevails with generally calmer seas and supposedly higher rainfall.
