Canterbury Cathedral invites its friends to share a voyage of religious discovery in the footsteps of St. Paul the Apostle. It is nearly 2000 years since St. Paul set out from the Holy Land on a journey that was to play an inestimable role in the dissemination of Christian ideas and the establishment of Christian communities. This cruise is a rare opportunity for all those interested in the history of the Christian faith to relive parts of Paul's journey, and literally follow in his footsteps.
The Cruise Ship Arion
We will fly to join the MV Arion in Corinth. Having personally visited the vessel we are delighted to say that unlike some of today's rather extravagant 'floating palaces' the Arion is a sensibly modest boat in both size and style. That's good for our company in two ways. On the one hand the maximum complement of guests is a little more than 300 so in the space of a week you get to meet and chat with most of your companions. On the other the Arion is able to berth at smaller ports and harbours where the big boats cannot — perfect for our journey.
Life on Board
You will find all the creature comforts you need but little of the noise and bustle that seem to typify modern cruising. The food is good, the crew very friendly and the service is very welcoming. The Arion makes an excellent choice for a holiday with some serious study thrown in.
